Omnissa Horizon Cloud, Edge Gateway and On-prem Horizon 8 Step by Step

Follow these steps to configure Omnissa Horizon Cloud and Edge Gateway with On-prem Horizon 8 Environment.

First log in to Omnissa Connect and launch Horizon Cloud Service.

Select Horizon 8.

Start Deployment.

On Add Horizon Edge page Confirm the requirements then click Next.

Give Horizon Edge a name and click Next.

On Capacity Provider page select Private data center and choose the Location then click Next.

Type the Edge Gateway FQDN and click Next.

Download the Edge Gateway Appliance.

Copy the Pairing code. You will needed later.

After downloading the Appliance go to vCenter and deploy OVF Template.

Select Local file and Upload the OVA then click Next.

Give Appliance a name and click Next.

Select the resource and click Next.

On Review details page click on Next.

Accept license agreement and click Next.

Select the Storage and click Next.

Select the networks and click Next.

On the Customize template page type the root password and paste the Pairing code which you copy earlier.

Type the IP address, DG, DNS, etc and click Next.

Click on Finish and wait for Appliance deployment to complete.

Start the Edge Gateway Appliance in vCenter.

Refresh the Pairing Status. Pairing may take some time.

After the Pairing is Successful click on Next.

Type the Connection Server URL and the Horizon Admin credential then click on Finish.

Confirm the Connection Server Certificate.

Click Ok to Complete the process of deploying the Edge Gateway.

Go to Capacity page and check the status.

Make sure the Connectivity Status is Ok.

Check the Licensing page on Connection Server and make sure the Horizon Subscription License is connected to License Service.
